Sneak Peek of our Mid-Century Style Ranch Living Room

Hi Guys! As you know, we have been working on our little 1954 mid-century ranch since we moved in February. I am slowly revealing some sneak peeks of our place. Today I want to show you some pictures I snapped of our living room. I am so excited for you to see it!

To start off this party right, it’s only fair to show some before shots. Here are a couple of photos of our living room when we first moved in:

Amazingly underwhelming right?! Well, we saw the potential in our little place and just knew with a little bit of magic, we could transform our place into our very own living oasis. Oh how I don’t miss you carpet! With a little bit of paint, pulling up carpet, and some muscle, our living room now looks more like this:

{Karlstad Sofa, Lappljung Rug, and Ranarp Lamp from IKEA, Mid-Century Style Round Coffee Table, Eames Style Chair and Tufted Arm Chair from Overstock, Arc Lamp from Crate and Barrel, and TV buffet table is a vintage find that we refinished)

This is our very FIRST ever fireplace and figuring out how to decorate it was sort of a challenge for me. How to decorate without making it too cluttered or look too bare. But, here it is in all of it’s glory. I imagine that this mantle will change often (I also can’t wait to decorate it for the holidays!)

I came home last weekend to a surprise from my hubby. He hung up our Copenhagen Mid-Century Wall Unit! We bought this wall unit about 5 years ago (with a little wedding money help from our dear friend Jon) at our favorite vintage store in Portland, called Hawthorne Vintage. When we sold our last home, the buyer wanted to keep it, but we said “no way”! I just knew it would be perfect in our new home. You have no idea how excited I was to see this unit up when I walked through the door. OK, without further ado, here it is, my current obsession:

There you have it guys! I hope you like the little sneak peek and please feel free to ask me any questions! And I would love to hear about some updates you are making on your home!
